The central problem of the present article is the definition of the following concepts: «image» and «image of a teacher».The authors analyze various interpretations of the given categories within the bounds of encyclopedic, psychological, sociological, pedagogical literature and literature on image. The authors also offer a variant of the concept «the image of a teacher».
